Frontline Faith – Comments from Troops

Frontline Faith

Words from the Front Lines

FRONTLINE FAITH receives feedback from soldiers who receive MP3 players on a regular basis. From chaplains to enlisted men, here are some samples of their thoughts:

“We recently received your MP3 players. This is such a busy place here at the Wings of Hope Chapel. We have many troops pass through here, and they are so appreciative of these players. What a blessing it is to have you and others who remember them and support them.”Viki, Master Sergeant, U.S. Air Force, stationed in Kyrgyzstan

“I am a soldier in Afghanistan, and … there are times when I don’t have a Mass for months…. I got this MP3 player from my chaplain, and it was a wonderful gift. This helped a great deal. The letters from children in their own voices was very inspirational and made me smile. The homilies made me think about how I need to remember all the things God has done for us in a place where you sometimes don’t think about religion because of the hardships of war.”Joseph, Corporal, U.S. Army, stationed in Afghanistan

“On behalf of all of us serving in Afghanistan, I wanted to take the time to write my thanks to you for the generous and much-appreciated gift. The (MP3 player) will be a great help when spirits are low, and it a most pleasant reminder of the kind generosity and consideration of our friends….”Derrick, Lieutenant Colonel and Wing Chaplain, U.S. Air Force, stationed in Afghanistan

“They have been extremely well received, and the content is impeccable. I have listened to mine several times, and the material on the players is very meaningful. I’m sure they will be a tremendous blessing to all who receive them.”Fr. Phil, Colonel and Chaplain, U.S. Army, stationed at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas

“By the way, the crew loves the MP3s. I gave them out at the start of the deployment; and even now, I put them on the shelf of our library and they fly off the shelf. It’s been such a great resource and blessing for them – and even for the ones whose schedules are conflicted and can’t get off work for services. This is a way for them to worship and have the peace and comfort it brings.”Lesa, Command Chaplain, U.S. Navy, stationed on the USS Anzio

“I came across the MP3 player when I have been ministering to U.S. troops in my area…. I am often attempting to feed others spiritually, although it is always a constant need to feed my own spiritual life. Having the opportunity to listen to the stories and the homilies on the MP3 player gave me some needed food on my time here in Afghanistan.”Fr. Damian, Chaplain, Australian Army, stationed in Afghanistan
